GATX Rail
GATX Rail is a leader in the rail leasing industry with more than 100 years of rail industry experience, preeminent expertise in specialized railcars, and a growing international presence. GATX Rail is one of the largest railcar lessors in North America. With interest in approximately 161,000 railcars worldwide, GATX Rail is active in North America and Europe. GATX Rail Locomotive Group, an affiliate of GATX Rail, buys, sells, overhauls and leases four and six-axle locomotives to railroads and industrial users. We provide our customers with a unique mix of financial and mechanical services that complement one of the largest locomotive operating lease fleets in North America.
GATX Specialty
GATX Specialty combines a broad range of asset-based financial services, including asset/portfolio acquisitions, management, and remarketing. GATX Specialty has investments, both principally and with partners, in a variety of assets. Through its Shipping and Marine group, GATX Specialty pursues shipping and marine related transactions on a global basis. The Industrial Equipment Finance (IEF) group provides tailored equipment leasing and financing solutions to meet the needs of the North American manufacturing and industrial sectors. In addition, GATX Specialty leverages its asset management capabilities by providing asset management for third-party owners.
American Steamship Company
American Steamship Company provides waterbourne transportation of dry-bulk commodities on the Great Lakes with a fleet of eleven modern, self-unloading vessels. American Steamship Company has been operating on the Great Lakes for 100 years, joining the GATX family in 1973.
